An Understated Dominance (Dustin Rhys) Chapter 2341 To 2350

An Understated Dominance (Dustin Rhys)

Chapter 2341

When Brian approached, the Celestial Alliance disciples quickly stepped aside to make way for him.

As the chief senior disciple, his strength was undeniable. In his 30s, he was already a grandmaster martial artist and held in high esteem within the Celestial Alliance.

If not for Fenley's exceptional talents, Brian might've been considered for the position of the guildmaster's successor.

"Hmph! They're nothing but clowns and unworthy of my attention." With a halberd in hand, Brian strode past the crowd His expression was cold, and he said arrogantly, "Listen up! I don't care who you are or what you want. Trespassing on our territory is a serious offense.

"I'm giving you the chance to surrender. If you don't, you have only yourselves to blfor what happens next." The assassins' leader made a silent hand gesture in response. Then, the assassins surrounded Brian and looked at him with deadly intent.

"Protect Brian!" The disciples of the Celestial Alliance were about to intervene, but Brian raised his hand to stop them. "No one moves. I can handle this trash alone!" The disciples exchanged looks but ultimately backed off. They couldn't defy Brian's orders, so they stood in wait.

"I'm offering you a chance to escape, yet you insist on fighting. It appears you're determined to learn it the hard way!" Brian's expression grew grim.

He leisurely broug

ht his halberd forward, revealing its imposing size and the intricate golden dragon etched upon it. In the moon's glow, the dragon appeared almost animate, and its claws extended with a chilling gleam.

"Attack!" The assassins' leader commanded. It was direct and to the point.

"Attack!" A squadron of assassins dressed in black charged forward with their weapons drawn.

Suddenly, the atmosphere resonated with the clash of metal and the intensity of their energy.

"Ember Strike!" Brian sneered.

He opted to advance rather than retreat. With determined strides, he dragged his halberd along the ground before lifting it with one hand and unleashing a swift horizontal slash.

A colossal crescent-shaped blade aura burst forth, which carried a terrifying lethality as it clashed with the approaching assassins.

The assassins didn't retreat. Instead, they raised their weapons to counter the blade aura.

With a series of explosive sounds, their weapons shattered upon contact, and the shockwave sent them reeling. Before they could react, Brian's blade aura had already pierced through their chests.

They only saw a flash passed before their eyes.

Several assassins at the front were instantly dismembered. Blood splattered everywhere, and severed limbs scattered across the ground.

Everyone was left dumbfounded as they watched the scene unfold.

"Holy crap! Is this what Brian is capable of? It's absolutely frightening." "I've heard rumors of him being a grandmaster martial artist. But witnessing it firsthand, I can attest to its truth." "No wonder he didn't want us to interfere. With his prowess, taking down these assassins is child's play." After a moment of shock, the Celestial Alliance disciples were ecstatic.

They knew Brian was formidable, but they hadn't fully grasped the extent of his power. With just one stroke, he had dispatched more than a dozen skilled assassins, which left them in awe.

"It's been a while since I've seen Brian in action, and it seems like he's only gotten better," Alicia remarked upon arriving and witnessing his prowess.

"Considering his current prowess, he should easily rank among the top three in the young generation of the Celestial Alliance, right?" Aurora narrowed her eyes thoughtfully.

Follow on mediaurdu.blogspot.com

"Yes. He could easily ascend to the position of guardian within our sect if he chose to. However, it appears he has other aspirations." Alicia shook her head.

"His hesitation to advance is because of you," Aurora teased with a knowing smile.

She continued, “If he remains as the principal disciple, he could seek Dad's permission to propose to you. But if he were to beca guardian, the situation would change." The Celestial Alliance strictly adhered to hierarchy, with clearly defined relationships between different ranks.

As the principal disciple, Brian referred to Alloy as "Mentor." However, if Brian were to be promoted to guardian, he would be required to address Alloy as Guildmaster," which indicated a significant change in their relationship.

"Rascal! Don't talk nonsense!" Alicia glared at her sister, then looked thoughtfully at Brian's figure. "His interests go beyond just romantic pursuits. There's a powerful ambition within him." She knew that while his attentiveness seemed genuine, it was more about her status than affection. Despite appearing indifferent to fand fortune, Brian had greater ambitions than anyone else. He wasn't content with the role of guardian, and she could tell he was aiming for the highest position.

Chapter 2342

Brian's lethal strike sent a chilling message to the group of assassins.

Despite their numbers, around 30 or 40 carefully chosen elites, nearly half of them were killed with just one blow.

Brian's formidable strength instilled fear in the remaining assassins.

Prior to their arrival, the assassins had gathered intelligence that the elite fighters of the nearby Celestial Alliance had been deployed elsewhere.

Seeing the vulnerability in the defenses surrounding Alicia and Aurora, they perceived an opportunity for assassination. Unbeknownst to them, a young powerhouse lay concealed within the villa.

After delivering the strike, Brian forcefully drove the handle of his halberd into the ground, creating a crater between them.

"Who else dares to step forward and face their end?" he demanded coldly, His words resounded like thunder and caused the assassins to recoil instinctively.

Follow on mediaurdu.blogspot.com

"Hmph! You fools dare to act recklessly on the Celestial Alliance's territory. Who gave you the audacity?" Brian continued to taunt. It was as if he was a lone defender against an unbreakable force.

He bellowed, "Here's your chance. Get down on your knees, surrender, and reveal the mastermind. Perhaps I'll spare your lives. Otherwise, expect no mercy." "At such a young age, your voice certainly carries quite a presence!" Suddenly, a wise and authoritative voice sounded out of thin air. It commanded attention despite its volume, which overshadowed Brian's words and was clearly heard by everyone.

"Who's there? Hiding in the shadows doesn't make you a hero. Show yourself!" Brian's sharp gaze scanned the surroundings.

"I am directly above you. Did you not notice me?" As the voice sounded again, a figure clad in black, with a head full of white hair and a ghostly mask, descended from the treetops. Silent and stealthy like a phantom, Shadowcloak landed without a sound.

If Shadowcloak hadn't chosen to reveal himself, Brian would have remained unaware of the presence hidden above him. The ability to conceal one's presence so skillfully was often a hallmark of elite assassins. "Who are you? State your name!" Brian shouted.

His eyes narrowed as he instinctively aimed his halberd at Shadowcloak. He deduced that anyone capable of eluding his perception and senses must be an elite assassin.

"Who I am is none of your concern. If you don't want to die, step aside right now. Otherwise, I won't mind adding one more soul to my collection," Shadowcloak said indifferently.

Despite his calm demeanor, his words dripped with arrogance.

"Hmph! Who do you think you are to speak with such audacity? Today, I'll test your true abilities!" Brian kicked the handle of his halberd and sent it spinning into the air. He caught it with one hand and thrust it at Shadowcloak.

Despite the halberd's bulkiness, it felt weightless in Brian's grasp, and his thrust was incredibly fast. Most opponents wouldn't have tto react.

"Rookie skills." Shadowcloak scoffed with his hands behind his back.

As the halberd thrust approached, he tapped his toes lightly on the ground. Then, he transformed into a wisp of smoke and vanished from sight. In the blink of an eye, he reappeared five yards away.

"Your attacks are too slow, and you couldn't lay a finger on me," Shadowcloak taunted disdainfully and shook his head. His arrogant demeanor made it clear he didn't see Brian as a threat.

"Slow?" Brian's eyes narrowed, and a surge of deadly intent flashed through them. "You're about to understand the meaning of fast." He gripped his blade's hilt tightly with both hands and felt his grandmaster's internal energy surge wildly within him. Instantly, his muscles bulged, and veins stood out on his arms.

"Die!" With a burst of speed, Brian propelled himself forward like a lightning bolt. His halberd arced high over his head before crashing down heavily toward Shadowcloak.

The strike was swift and powerful, with a tremendous impact. All anyone could perceive was a blur. In the blink of an eye, Brian's halberd cleaved through Shadowcloak from top to bottom.

The others were shocked by the spectacle.

"Damn! Did he just take him out in a split second?"

"It's no surprise he's the principal disciple! His skill is remarkable!” "I thought that assassin was tough, but Brian made it look easy. What a joke!" The Celestial Alliance disciples were amazed and impressed again by Brian's strength.

But while they cheered, Brian's expression remained solemn and devoid of any joy in victory. When his strike connected, it felt as though he encountered no resistance, as if he had sliced through nothingness.

"That was a decent hit but too slow," a ghostly voice echoed.

Everyone looked up in shock.

Shadowcloak, apparently cleaved in two by Brian, slowly dissipated into thin air and transformed into a wisp of smoke. Simultaneously, the air ahead distorted, and Shadowcloak materialized seemingly out of nowhere.

The eerie spectacle sent shivers down everyone's spines. They couldn't discern whether Shadowcloak was human or a ghost.

Chapter 2343

"What the heck? Didn't Brian just land a blow? How is that man still standing? "He's too fast. Brian's sword seemed to hit, but it only struck the man's afterimage." "Damn! Who is this guy? Pulling off moves like sghost." The Celestial Alliance disciples were stunned to see Shadowcloak emerge unharmed.

Brian was a master martial artist, and his strikes were incredibly swift. Yet, he didn't even graze Shadowcloak, which bewildered them.

They had never witnessed such fluid movements. It was as if he was teleporting, which made it impossible to track.

"Alicia, can you decipher that elderly man's techniques?" Aurora asked with a deep frown, and her expression turned serious. She prided herself on keen observation, yet she struggled to follow Shadowcloak's movements.

"He's too fast, and I couldn't see clearly." Alicia shook her head. Then, she said somberly, "It looks like Brian has met his match today." Even among grandmaster martial artists, there were differences in skill.

Just from Shadowcloak's evasive maneuvers, it was clear he outmatched Brian. Unless Brian had shidden tactics, it would be tough to gain the upper hand.

Suddenly, Grace whispered, "Dustin, did you notice anything strange about that elderly man?" "You mean his technique?" He raised an eyebrow.

Follow on mediaurdu.blogspot.com

"Yes, his techniques are remarkable. But his energy fluctuates unpredictably, sometimes solid as a rock, other times light as a feather. It's contradictory," she said thoughtfully.

Typically, one's appearance might change, but their energy waves were challenging to manipulate. For discerning martial artists, energy waves could swiftly unveil a person's prowess.

However, Shadowcloak was an exception. His energy fluctuated unpredictably, appearing strong one moment and weak the next. This inconsistency made it difficult for others to assess his true strength accurately.

"I've noticed it too." Dustin nodded.

He continued, "Given the circumstances, there are only two potential explanations. Either this man possesses an incomprehensible level of strength, which enables him to manipulate his energy waves at will. Or he's just a master of disguise without real strength." In the martial world, smartial artists spent decades perfecting a single skill. While they might achieve mastery in one aspect, they often struggle in others.

For instance, a martial artist might possess tremendous strength but lack agility, speed, or technique. Great power alone didn't equate to overall prowess. Even with tremendous strength, if they couldn't land a hit, it was useless.

Such specialists have clear strengths but also significant weaknesses. If Shadowcloak were truly a well-rounded expert, that would be noteworthy. However, if he had been just an extrspecialist focused on agility, then the fight could have been interesting.

"Young man, you're quite powerful. But you're still miles behind compared to me," Shadowcloak spoke again. "I appreciate your talent and don't wish to kill you. Step aside now, and I'll spare your life." "Hmph! If you seek a fight, then let's engage in one. Enough with the chatters. Take this." Brian was infuriated by his two failed strikes. So, he swung his halberd again.

Shadowcloak stood calmly with his hands behind his back. As the weapon swung toward him, he lightly tapped his toe and soared into the air.

"Go to hell!" Brian's gaze narrowed as he shifted his attack from a horizontal swing to an upward thrust, which aimed directly at Shadowcloak's groin.

As Shadowcloak hovered mid-air and had no place to dodge, Brian saw his chance for a decisive strike.

Despite acknowledging Shadowcloak's formidable strength, Brian also discerned a flaw in his opponent's arrogance, which ultimately left him vulnerable. It appeared that Shadowcloak had inadvertently set the stage for his own demise.

Just as Brian poised to deliver what seemed to be a fatal blow, Shadowcloak's form abruptly erupted into a swirling cloud of dark mist and dispersed into the air. Brian's blade sliced through empty air again.

"You're moving at a snail's pace. With that kind of sluggishness, do you even think you can land a hit on me?" The voice echoed from above.

All eyes turned upward to see Shadowcloak, who had transformed into dark mist and was now perched atop a tree. He stood there with his hands casually tucked behind his back. His white hair billowed in the breeze, and his form swayed.

His demeanor exuded a sense of detachment and superiority. It was particularly evident in his disdainful gaze, which only served to stoke Brian's fury further.

Follow on mediaurdu.blogspot.com

"Argh!" Brian couldn't contain his anger, and his eyes turned bloodshot. He lunged forward with his halberd aimed at the tree. A tremendous blade aura erupted as it swiftly penetrated the tree and relentlessly slammed into the wall.

A thunderous noise reverberated as the wall, standing several feet high, collapsed. Debris scattered and enveloped everything in swirling clouds of dust. With a sharp crack, the tree, cleaved in half by the blade aura, crashed down.

The crowd scattered in shock.

As for Shadowcloak, perched on the treetop, he had vanished without a trace.

Brian's strike had once again missed its mark.

An Understated Dominance (Dustin Rhys)

Chapter 2344

"Cout! Get out here now!" Brian's fury intensified as he repeatedly missed his target.

His eyes blazed with rage as he swung his halberd wildly. Blade aura shot out from his weapon and shredded everything within a 65-foot radius.

The Celestial Alliance disciples were terrified and instantly retreated to avoid being caught in the mayhem.

Brian had lost control as he attacked indiscriminately and disregarded the potential harm to anyone nearby. Those in close proximity were at serious risk of being hit by mistake.

"Argh! Show yourself, coward!" he yelled. His eyes were ablaze with fury as his attacks grew more frantic.

"Young man, you're too sluggish. You can't even discern my true form. How do you expect to challenge me?" Shadowcloak's laughter echoed all around, shifting in direction and distance, which made it impossible to pinpoint his location.

The taunting laughter only fueled Brian's fury and drove him to the brink of madness. Suddenly, Shadowcloak appeared ten yards to Brian's left.

Follow on mediaurdu.blogspot.com

"I'll kill you!" Brian roared. He charged without hesitation and swung his halberd down hard.

With a loud bang, Shadowcloak vanished just before Brian's blade struck and left a deep gash in the ground where he had been standing earlier.

"I'm here," Shadowcloak's voice echoed from behind.

Brian turned around and swung his blade, only to find it pass through nothing but Shadowcloak's lingering afterimage.

"Hey, who are you swinging at? I'm right behind you," Shadowcloak taunted.

He added, "Oops, missed again. I'm actually on your left. You're too slow. It's hard to believe you're the chief senior disciple of the Celestial Alliance. You're quite a letdown." Shadowcloak's mocking voice seemed to cfrom all directions. His form darted around Brian like a phantom, appearing first on his left, then on his right, which was impossible to predict.

Consumed by rage and losing his rationality, Brian struck out wildly like a frenzied animal. Yet he couldn't land a single blow. His cries of frustration echoed through the courtyard.

The Celestial Alliance disciples watched, and their expressions clouded with a mixture of shand fear. Brian was being toyed with, and they were powerless to help.

"Alicia, this isn't looking good. If Brian keeps this up, he'll exhaust himself without even touching that man." Aurora frowned as she watched his frantic and ineffective attacks wreaking havoc in the front yard.

"He is beyond reasoning now. There's no stopping him." Alicia sighed and shook her head.

Despite his talent and strength, Brian was known for his volatile temper. When provoked, he would lose all sense of control and indiscriminately lash out even at those trying to help.

"So, what do we do? Just stand here and watch him burn out?" Aurora was baffled.

"Dr. Rhys." Alicia suddenly turned to Dustin. "Your medical skills are extraordinary. Do you have any way to calm Brian down quickly?" "Calm him down?" Dustin arched an eyebrow. He pondered momentarily and nodded. "Yes, I do." "Really?" Her face lit up. "Please, help Brian immediately." "Are you sure?" Dustin asked.

"Yes." She nodded. “He looks exhausted. If he keeps getting agitated, he'll wear himself out. We really need your help." "I can help, but you'll need to deal with any consequences," Dustin replied.

"No problem!" Alicia agreed instantly.

"Okay, I'll take care of him." Then, Dustin swiftly approached Brian from behind. Suddenly, he delivered a precise hit to the back of his neck.

Brian's eyes glazed over, and he öm slumped unconscious to the ground. "Done." Dustin dusted off his hands and returned to Grace's side.

"Huh?" Alicia, Aurora, and the others were shocked. They hadn't expected Dustin's approach to handling Brian to result in him being knocked unconscious.

"Dr. Rhys, is this your method of calming someone down?" Alicia glanced incredulously from the unconscious Brian to Dustin.

"Well, isn't this method quick and effective?" Dustin said with a straight face.

"Uh..." Alicia's eyes twitched. She was momentarily at a loss for words.

Dustin's method was quick and effective, but the approach was unexpected.

Alicia wanted Brian to swiftly regain composure to prevent him from succumbing to exhaustion. She understood that if Brian were incapacitated, no one would be able to confront Shadowcloak.

However, she hadn't anticipated Dustin would knock Brian unconscious. While it resolved the immediate issue, it left Alicia pondering the implications.

"Brian!" After a moment of stunned silence, the Celestial Alliance disciples hurried to lift the unconscious Brian and move him away. Despite their attempts to rouse him by shaking and calling out to him, Brian remained sound asleep.

"Dr. Rhys, you knocked him out. So, who is going to deal with the assassins now?" Aurora frowned and felt a headache coming on.

"You only askedto calm him down quickly. You didn't say that he had to stay conscious." Dustin shrugged.

"Uh... well, can you wake him up?” Alicia asked.

"Sure." Dustin nodded.

Follow on mediaurdu.blogspot.com

"We'd be grateful if you could wake him up,” Alicia breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Brian awakened, they stood a chance to confront Shadowcloak and the assassins.

"Okay," Dustin responded and promptly pulled out his silver needles.

"Wait!" Aurora interjected cautiously." Dr. Rhys, are you certain this won't go wrong again?" "It won't. Trust me, I've done this before," Dustin said confidently.

"Okay then," Aurora said with a relieved smile.

"Here we go," Dustin said. He held a silver needle between his fingers and swiftly inserted it above Brian's upper lip.

Brian's eyes snapped open, and he sprang to his feet. "Kill! I'm going to kill all of you!" he shouted frantically. With his halberd in hand, he swung it wildly as if in a frenzy.

Aurora's face turned pale with fear at the sight. She quickly copied Dustin's earlier move and delivered a sharp blow to the back of Brian's neck. He groaned and collapsed again.

"That was close. It could've been disastrous." She breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Brian, now lying peacefully.

Given Brian's strength, she knew no one could have stopped him if he had gone on a rampage.

"Aurora..." Alicia was shocked. She felt that knocking him out again right after he woke up seemed extreme.

"Yeah, Alicia, but what choice did we have? Brian hadn't calmed down yet," Aurora replied helplessly. If they let him lose control, countless people could have been hurt.

"It's strange, though. Brian may be impulsive, but he's never been this volatile. Why did a couple of taunts push him over the edge?" Alicia frowned in confusion.

"The problem lies with that man," Grace chimed in. "He probably drugged Brian and made him irritable and easily manipulated." "That explains it. No wonder Brian seemed off." Alicia nodded thoughtfully.

"What a vile person to use such underhanded tactics to hurt others." Aurora's expression turned cold.

Brian was the strongest among them. It would spell disaster if he lost control and couldn't distinguish friend from foe.

"Faith, what should we do about that man? He seems pretty formidable." Alicia frowned and eyed the cloaked figure who had appeared out of nowhere.

"Don't worry. With Dr. Rhys here, that man won't be causing any trouble," Grace said with a faint smile. She seemed unfazed by the situation.

"Dr. Rhys?" Alicia and Aurora turned to Dustin with a blend of curiosity and skepticism in their expressions.

Follow on mediaurdu.blogspot.com

Despite Dustin's remarkable medical skills, he was just a doctor. They questioned how he could compete with a grandmaster martial artist. Their skill levels seemed worlds apart.

"Why does it always have to be me?" he exclaimed in exasperation.

Since encountering the Marshall sisters, he hadn't experienced a single moment of respite-juggling between alchemy, treating Alicia, and dealing with Brian's messes. And now, he was being roped into fights too. "Well, the capable ones get all the tasks, right? You can't expect the defenseless girls to handle the fighting, "Grace said with a playful wink.

"Faith, Dr. Rhys looks pretty skinny. Can he really take on that man?” Alicia asked while giving Dustin a once-over.

"Yeah, Faith. That man is a grandmaster martial artist. Even Brian isn't a match for him. Can Dr. Rhys really handle it?" Aurora chimed in. She was equally skeptical about Dustin.

"Don't worry. If Dr. Rhys is willing to step up, he'll handle that man with ease," Grace assured them with a smile.

"Really? Does Dr. Rhys have shidden skills?" Alicia was taken aback by Grace's confidence.

She knew Grace wouldn't make unfounded claims. Alicia was curious if Dustin had ssecret talent to confront a grandmaster martial artist.

"Whether there's a hidden skill or not, you'll see soon enough." Grace grinned, then raised an eyebrow at Dustin. "The stage is yours. Show us what you've got."

"Well, thank you," Dustin replied, annoyed.

He had initially cto cure Alicia, but now he had to fight as well. After an exhausting day of hard work with no reward, he felt completely shortchanged.

"Don't be so grumpy. Show off your heroic side in front of these two beauties. Who knows, you might win their hearts," Grace teased in a low voice.

"Yeah, right. These two are nothing but trouble. I want no part of it." He rolled his eyes.

"Hey! What are you two whispering about?" Shadowcloak couldn't stay silent anymore and declared, "I'm giving you two options: surrender now, or I'll kill you." "Kill me? You sure talk big." Dustin stepped forward and stared at him.

He continued, "You might be fast, but your strength is laughable. The guy lying there could defeat you easily if he were a bit smarter." "Arrogant brat! What the heck are you talking about?" Shadowcloak snarled.

Follow on mediaurdu.blogspot.com

"Drop the act. You may fool others, but I can see right through you," Dustin said with a straight face.

He continued, "If I'm not mistaken, you've spent decades honing your agility. You've mastered it to a level that surpasses many grandmaster martial artists. But unfortunately, you lack strength in combat.

"Sure, you can handle divine-level martial artists with ease. However, when facing grandmaster level opponent, you'd resort to underhanded tactics and intimidation." After careful observation, Dustin noted that Shadowcloak's cultivation was only halfway to becoming a ga grandmaster and hadn't broken through yet. Despite that, Shadowcloak lacked the strength to match Brian. However, his key advantage was his remarkable agility, which made him practically untouchable.

It enabled him to adopt the persona of a phantom, striking fear into his opponent's hearts and forcing them to retreat. Hence, his energy waves' fluctuation was just a form of disguise.

The reason Shadowcloak drugged Brian was that he couldn't defeat the man. So, he relied on his cunning tactic to drive Brian into madness and eventually exhaust himself.

"You... You're just talking nonsense!" Dustin's words seemed to hit Shadowcloak's nerve, and he seethed in anger.

He roared, "Bastard! How dare you question my strength? You must have a death wish. Cforward if you dare.

And I'll crush you with a single strike.' "Really? I'd like to see what you've got. "Dustin scoffed. He was unfazed by the threat as he approached Shadowcloak.

Dustin's casual approach caught Shadowcloack off guard. Given his earlier skill demonstration, which was on par with a grandmaster, others would have hesitated and felt intimidated.

Shadowcloak had planned to seize that moment to showcase his abilities. But he never anticipated Dustin's boldness as he advanced toward him.

He wondered if Dustin was simply fearless or had something up his sleeve. Shadowcloak frowned, and he began to waver.

"Hey! Aren't you going to crushwith a single strike? Well, here I am. I'll stand right here and let you do it." Dustin stood with his hands behind his back. His tone was calm yet defiant.

"Reckless fool! Since you have a death wish, I'll gladly oblige." Shadowcloak shook with rage. He lunged forward without hesitation and aimed a powerful palm strike directly at Dustin's head.

With a thunderous roar, a massive, translucent hand materialized from thin air and slammed down on Dustin like a sledgehammer.

Follow on mediaurdu.blogspot.com

Shadowcloak was only halfway to becoming a grandmaster. Although he could easily deal with most divine-level martial artists, he still harbored lingering fear when facing grandmaster -level opponents.

He knew with his agility, he could always escape even if he couldn't win. So, he attacked Dustin without hesitation.

"Die!"

When he saw Dustin standing his ground without flinching, his murderous intent surged, and his attack intensified. But just as his hand was about to strike Dustin's head, a protective force field armor suddenly appeared. Shadowcloak's full-force strike collided with the force field and exploded. His true energy shadow palm shattered on impact and dispersed into the wind.

He was propelled backward and retreated several paces. His limbs went numb, and he felt a rush of adrenaline coursing through his body.

Meanwhile, Dustin was still standing with hands behind his back. He was unaffected by the impact.

"How is this possible?" Shadowcloak's face twisted in horror. He was bewildered. Despite striking Dustin with all his might, the man appeared completely unscathed.

"Is that all you've got? Pathetic." Dustin shook his head and eyed him disdainfully. As he had expected, Shadowcloak was nothing more than a hollow thr

Chapter 2347

"What's going on? Did Dr. Rhys just block that strike?" "Oh my God! He took the grandmaster's attack head-on without a scratch! This is unbelievable." The Celestial Alliance disciples were in awe and disbelief after witnessing Dustin block the attack like it was nothing.

After all, Brian couldn't even defeat Shadowcloak. So, when the alliance's disciples saw Dustin step forward, they didn't hold much hope at first.

Seven thought he was walking into a death trap. But they never anticipated that Dustin had such profound cultivation.

"Faith, could it be that Dr. Rhys is a grandmaster?" Alicia was also surprised by Dustin's skills. Although Grace had mentioned it before, she still had doubts.

After all, possessing extraordinary medical skills was already quite rare. Many doctors spend their careers without achieving half of Dustin's expertise.

What truly distinguished Dustin was he was knowledgeable in both medical skills and martial arts. Alicia had never encountered a dual-skilled genius before.

Follow on mediaurdu.blogspot.com

"A grandmaster?" Grace smiled faintly. She neither confirmed nor denied it." You could say that." Dustin was more than just a grandmaster martial artist. He was a once-in-a-millenium genius, topping the Legendary List and standing at the pinnacle of the martial world.

His cultivation had long surpassed the level of grandmaster, so he wouldn't need to break a sweat to deal with someone so insignificant.

"A skilled doctor and a grandmaster? Just who is Dr. Rhys?" Aurora was surprised and confused by the revelation. She had heard of almost every young talent in the martial world, yet Dustin's ndidn't ring a bell.

A genius with such prowess in medical skills and martial arts would normally be widely renowned. So, his sudden appearance struck her as odd.

Aurora surmised that Dustin was either a hidden master uninterested in for deliberately concealed his identity.

"Kid! Who are you? State your name!" Shadowcloak's face darkened since he was facing a formidable enemy. He had initially underestimated Dustin. However, after witnessing his strength firsthand, Shadowcloak realized that the unassuming young man was even more powerful than Brian.

"It doesn't matter who I am," Dustin said casually. "What matters is, who sent you?" "Hmph! Trying to trickinto answering your question? Dream on!" Shadowcloak scowled. "I don't care who you are or where you cfrom. Be smart and get lost now. Otherwise, you'll get a taste of my ruthlessness." "Are you seriously trying to play tough at this point?" Dustin sneered.

"Don't get too c*cky, kid. I only used about ten percent of my strength earlier. That's why you got away with it. Once I go all out, you'll be dead." Shadowcloak shouted.

As he spoke, his entire demeanor becmore imposing. The wind howled around him, and an oppressive force erupted and enveloped everyone present. They felt their bodies weigh down as if an invisible force pressed on their shoulders.

"Kid, can you feel that? That's the power of a grandmaster. Once I go all out, you'll be squashed like a bug." Shadowcloak's fury flared. His cloak billowed in the wind, and he looked intimidating.

"I didn't expect that elderly man was hiding such strength. It looks like Dr. Rhys is in trouble." Alicia's expression darkened at the sight.

Though Dustin was a grandmaster, she felt he was still young and lacked experience. When facing the tougher grandmasters, he could be at a disadvantage.

She could tell Shadowcloak, with his menacing presence, was clearly no ordinary grandmaster.

"Letcall the reinforcement. We can't let Dr. Rhys risk his life for us," Aurora said as she pulled out her phone to make the call.

Follow on mediaurdu.blogspot.com

"You don't have to," Grace said with a faint smile. "That elderly man might seem tough, but he's not as skilled as he appears. Once he made a move, Dr. Rhys would easily deal with him.

"That's impossible." Aurora frowned and eyed Shadowcloak. "His energy waves are as strong as the alliance's elders. What makes you think he isn't that skilled?" "Energy waves can be manipulated," Grace said with a smile.

She explained, "There's a secret technique that allows the practitioners to hide and manipulate their energy waves. Although it doesn't boost one's strength, this skill can certainly intimidate others." "So, you're saying... that man is just a fraud?” Aurora quickly caught on.

"Yes." Grace nodded. "If he was truly a skilled martial artist, why waste ttalking? Don't forget that he's an assassin. If he's confident in taking out his target, why did he hesitate until now?"

"You've got a point," Aurora agreed with a nod. The contentis on Eh..com! Assassins were known for their dishonorable tactics and disregard for rules. They would resort to any means to kill their target.

However, she noticed that Shadowcloak's actions were suspicious. Despite his constant chatter upon showing up, he didn't make any moves. When he eventually attacked, Dustin effortlessly knocked him back.

"Hold on! If that man didn't have the strength, how do you explain his agility?" Alicia chimed in. Grace smiled and said, "Dr. Rhys had just explained it earlier. Despite the man's cultivation, he had spent decades honing his agility.

She continued, "He had mastered it to a level that surpasses many grandmasters. That's how he has been following everyone. 1 "Sure, his agility gives him the upper hand in fights, especially against divine -level martial artists. But against a grandmaster, his skills won't be enough to break through their defense. "

"Now it makes sense." Alicia and Aurora nodded.

After all the fuss, Shadowcloak was just a fraud. Despite his intimidating facade, he crumbled under pressure, which revealed his cowardice. He could intimidate the vulnerable, but his bravado faltered when confronted with a powerful opponent.

The sisters finally understood why he never made a move against Brian earlier. It wasn't due to his supposed strength but rather his weakness and fear of taking action.

"Kid, this is your last chance. Get down on your knees and surrender. Perhaps I'll spare your life. But if you resist, I'll crush you right now." Shadowcloak's voice thundered with menace.

At that instant, his imposing demeanor looked like that of a grandmaster martial artist.

"Stop your blabbering, and let's fight. I want to see what else you've got up your sleeve." Dustin smirked and eyed him disdainfully.

Shadowcloak's performance was impressive, even though his facade had already been exposed. It was easy for those unaware to be deceived by his act.

"Stubborn fool! I'll finish you off right now," Shadowcloak shouted. In a flash, his figure split into multiple shadows and appeared behind Dustin.

He aimed to finish Dustin with a lethal blow. Plus, he knew he couldn't defeat Dustin in a direct confrontation, so he opted for a sneak attack. With his agility, he believed he could easily outmatch Dustin.

After all, winning would solidify Shadowcloak's reputation as a grandmaster. Even if he were defeated, he had an escape plan. Either way, he was invincible.

"Go to hell!" When he noticed Dustin didn't dodge, Shadowcloak's true energy surged. He gathered it in his palm before striking Dustin from behind.

The swift, fierce strike seemed unavoidable with Shadowcloak's agility. Before the onlookers could react, his iron palm had already struck Dustin with a muffled thud.

Surprisingly, Dustin still stood there. He didn't even activate his energy armor to protect himself and relied solely on his body to withstand the attack.

On the contrary, Shadowcloak's hand went numb from the impact as if he had struck a piece of darksteel. "How... how is this possible?" Shadowcloak was dumbfounded. His eyes widened in disbelief as if he had seen a ghost.

Dustin had activated his energy armor earlier, so it made sense that he wasn't affected by the attack. But this time, he didn't have tto activate his energy armor since Shadowcloak's attack was lightning-fast.

There wasn't a single grandmaster martial artist who could endure such a powerful blow with just their body. Yet, Shadowcloak was baffled by Dustin's ability to withstand his attack without a scratch.

He wondered if Dustin was a grandmaster with versatile cultivation. The thought sent shivers down his spine, filling him with dread.

Shadowcloak wouldn't feel so intimidated facing a regular grandmaster. However, confronting a versatile cultivation grandmaster was different. They had no weakness and possessed profound cultivation along with an incredibly strong physique.

Their speed, strength, defense, and reflexes surpassed the regular grandmasters. A versatile cultivation grandmaster could easily take on multiple opponents of the slevel.

Moreover, the process of becoming a versatile cultivation grandmaster was not easy. It required several times the effort and dedication compared to becoming a grandmaster.

In all his years in the martial world, Shadowcloak had only heard of a handful of these grandmasters. Each of them stood as a dominant force in their respective regions.

Yet, he never anticipated he would encounter a versatile cultivation grandmaster who was only in his 20s. Plus, someone so young and had such terrifying strength was nothing short of monstrous. His panic intensified with each passing second, and his body began to tremble uncontrollably. Despite his agility, facing such a grandmaster made him feel like a sheep waiting to be slaughtered. He knew one wrong move could mean the end of him.

"Is that the best you've got? You're so weak." Dustin turned and looked at him like a tiger Sizing up its prey. Shadowcloak trembled with fear and screamed before fleeing. His figure blurred into several illusions that scattered in all directions.

This was his secret technique, the Illusionary Split. It was reserved for dire situations. He only used it when facing a formidable opponent or when he was in mortal danger.

He relied on illusions to confuse his pursuers and buy him tto escape when he knew he couldn't win the confrontation. After all, fleeing was his only recourse. No matter how agile he was, he knew it would be a futile struggle if he were caught.

Everyone exchanged puzzled glances when they saw Shadowcloak suddenly flee. They were utterly bewildered by the sudden turn of events.

Chapter 2349

What happened? Just moments ago, Shadowcloak was boasting and swaggering with bravado. But now, he scattered like a mouse at the sight of a cat.

Everyone was stunned by the sudden turn of events.

One moment, he was acting all high and mighty, but the next second, he was hightailing it at unbelievable speed. With several figures darting off, it was hard to tell which one was actually him. "Huh?" Dustin was shocked by Shadowcloak's sudden retreat. He thought the man was going to rely on his agility to continue the fight.

The quick exit after just two strikes caught Dustin off guard.

"He's quite cunning." He chuckled and acknowledged Shadowcloack's sharp instincts.

His swift departure showed a keen sense of trouble and adaptability without concern for his reputation. He was fortunate to have run away. Otherwise, Dustin would defeat him.

Moreover, thriving in the martial world through deceitful means demanded a certain level of skill and cunning tricks.

"Fine. I'll let you off tonight." Dustin shook his head and chose not to pursue Shadowcloak. He was confident in his ability to catch up, but the prospect didn't appeal to him.

After all, driving away Shadowcloak and resolving Alicia's crisis was already going above and beyond the call of duty. Further involvement would only invite trouble, especially since this was the Celestial Alliance's affair.

"What's going on? Why did that man suddenly run off?" Alicia was bewildered, and she looked at Grace and Aurora.

Everything had happened in a flash, from Shadowcloak's sneak attack to his hasty retreat. Alicia struggled to keep up with the whirlwind of events.

"He fled because he knew he couldn't win," Grace said. She smiled and explained, "He was just talking big. All bark and no bite. When he realized he couldn't intimidate Dr. Rhys, he had no choice but to flee." "Yeah, lucky he took off. Otherwise, I would have broken his legs." Aurora angrily swung her fists. "Everyone retreat!" As soon as the surrounding assassins saw Shadowcloak's hasty departure, they promptly scattered. After all, he was their leader and key strategist. Seeing him flee made it clear that they would end up dead if they lingered.

"Go after them!" The command spurred the Celestial Alliance disciples into action. They drew their weapons and were ready to hunt down the assassins.

However, Alicia immediately stopped them. "Forget it. Stop chasing after them." Those assassins were just pawns, and she didn't see any merit in pursuing them. She understood that falling into their trap would only result in severe losses. Thus, she deemed the risk unworthy of pursuit.

Then, Aurora ordered, “Clean up and alert the guild to send selites to protect Alicia." "Understood, Ms. Aurora." The Celestial Alliance disciples acknowledged and quickly cleaned up the area.

The ambush had been unsettling, but it was non-threatening. Though swere injured, the disciples managed to protect Alicia. Otherwise, if anything happened to the Marshall sisters, they knew they would be punished.

"Dr. Rhys, what should we do with Brian?" Aurora looked at the unconscious Brian on the ground.

"The ground is cold. Take him inside.” Dustin simply glanced at him.

"Will he go berserk again when he wakes up? She frowned and was confused when Dustin mentioned the cold ground. She wondered if he was worried about Brian catching a cold.

"How would I know? Just wake him up and find out." Dustin shrugged nonchalantly.

"What if he goes berserk again?" Aurora asked again.

"Then, knock him out again," he replied earnestly.

Aurora was speechless. Although she found slogic in his response, she still felt strange nonetheless.

"Lethandle this," Grace said. She stepped forward and silently chanted before extending her index and middle fingers.

Then, she pressed them firmly and a against Brian's forehead st of gold light gleamed. His body convulsed as if struck by lightning, and he opened his eyes. Aurora and the others tensed up upon seeing that. They instinctively reached for their weapons. If Brian made any odd behavior, they would act without hesitation.

"What happened?" Brian scrambled to his feet and looked around in confusion.

He only recalled chasing after Shadowcloak. In the midst of his pursuit, his mind went blank, and he lost consciousness. He had no recollection of anything that followed.

"Brian, are you okay?" Aurora asked tentatively.

"What could be wrong with me? I..." Suddenly, he rubbed his neck and frowned. "Why does my neck hurt so much? It feels like it's been hit." Aurora and Dustin exchanged glances. They maintained their poker faces and pretended not to know anything.

Chapter 2350

"Um... Brian, you were drugged earlier. Thank goodness Dr. Rhys saved you. Otherwise, you might be in grave danger." Alicia quickly spoke up to break the awkward silence.

"What? He saved me?" Brian looked at Dustin in disbelief. "Are you sure about that? I don't remember any of this." "You lost your senses because you were drugged and almost caused a disaster. If Dr. Rhys hadn't intervened, the consequences would have been unimaginable," she said earnestly.

"Yes. You should thank Dr. Rhys," Aurora chimed in with a nod.

"Hmph! Who asked him to save me? He's just sticking his nose where it doesn't belong!" Brian scoffed and glared at Dustin disdainfully.

"I'm tired. I'm heading back to my room to rest," he added coldly before leaving.

He had looked down on Dustin since meeting him. Hence, it was a blow to his pride when he learned that Dustin had saved him. Naturally, Brian couldn't accept this outcome, and apologizing to Dustin was out of the question.

"Dr. Rhys, I'm sorry about Brian's attitude. He's stubborn and terrible with words. Please don't take it to heart.

Follow on mediaurdu.blogspot.com

"Alicia smiled apologetically.

"It's okay." Dustin shrugged. He never expected Brian to shower him with gratitude. As long as he didn't cause any trouble, Dustin would be grateful.

"Dr. Rhys, what do you think about my earlier proposal at the dinner table?" Alicia suddenly changed the subject.

She continued, “As long as you becour consultant, you'll enjoy plenty of benefits without any obligations. Basically, you'll just be affiliated with us without having to do anything." "Oh? Is that so?" Dustin raised an eyebrow. He was quite surprised upon hearing that. "Well, it's not for anyone. You're the only one to get such an offer," she said with a smile.

Typically, consultants for the Celestial Alliance could enjoy many benefits, but they were also expected to handle a few tasks each year. However, Alicia could tell that Dustin didn't like being tied down or ordered around.

So, she offered him such generous terms. He deserved it. Plus, she valued his talent and wanted to befriend him.

A young genius skilled in medical and martial arts was highly sought after anywhere. Alicia knew that bringing Dustin into the Celestial Alliance, even in nonly, would bring great benefits.

"Since Ms. Marshall invitedso warmly, I'll gladly accept it," Dustin agreed after glancing at Grace, who nodded in approval.

His biggest concern with joining any guild was the hassle and restriction, but Alicia's offer was perfect-benefits without obligations. To him, it was an ideal arrangement.

"Welcome, Dr. Rhys, as a consultant of Celestial Alliance!" Alicia smiled and extended her hand.

"Thank you. I'm looking forward to working with you." Dustin shook her hand.

"Alicia, congratulations on recruiting another valuable member to the Celestial Alliance." Grace smiled.

"Thank you, Faith. If you hadn't brought him here, I would never have discovered such a gem," Alicia replied. "Okay, enough with the formalities. Let's continue our dinner," Aurora said as she ushered everyone to the dining room.

Brian went inside a room near the courtyard and gently closed the door behind him. He peeked outside through the edge of the curtain to ensure nobody was around.

Then, he quickly drew the curtains shut and pulled out his phone to make a call. "Hey! What's going on? I gave you the address, dispatched selites away, and even played dumb to give you the opportunity.

"And what do I get? You can't even manage to kidnap one person. I'm disappointed with how the Hall of Gods planned things." His tone was full of dissatisfaction.

A deep voice responded from the other end. "Mr. Stern, today's event was unexpected. We made a mistake in choosing the wrong people which led to the plan's failure. But rest assured, we'll find a way to fix this and ensure it doesn't happen again." "Fix it? How?" Brian frowned.

He went on, "After what happened today, the Marshall sisters will only becmore cautious. They've already called for reinforcement, and more skilled elites will arrive tomorrow to protect them. Kidnapping them will be nearly impossible!" The person on the other end replied, " Please calm down. We already have a plan in place. You just focus on participating in the Combat Tournament as usual.

"On the days of the finals, we'll stir up a storm at Sacred Wryng Summit Then, we can go ahead with the kidnapping plan." "What do you mean by stirring up a storm?" Brian raised an eyebrow.

"I'm sorry. It's confidential information, and I can't tell you. I hope you understand." "Fine. I'm not interested in your confidential stuff anyway. But don't forget our collaboration," Brian reminded him.

"Mr. Stern, rest assured. Once this plan succeeds, we will fully support you in ascending to the position of guildmaster." "Okay." Brian smiled. Becoming the Celestial Alliance guildmaster had been his lifelong dream, but Fenley was always in his way.

The hope of inheriting the position seemed dim. So, he had to find another way, even if it meant betraying the guild or his country. He was willing to do whatever it took to achieve his goal.
