Chapter 2171
The overnight uproar was soon forgotten in the light of day.
The following morning, Sacred Wrym Summit hummed with activity as people thronged in.
It was the much-awaited day—the official kickoff of the Combat Tournament.
Participants and onlookers flooded the area. They were eager to witness something truly remarkable.
This unprecedented event had become the talk of the martial world. It attracted representatives from all major sects and guilds.
Even those not participating in the tournament found themselves drawn to the excitement.
Because everyone knew this was a rare chance to witness extraordinary talent, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity not to be missed.
The Combat Tournament at Sacred Wrym Summit lasted five days. During the initial three days, Groups C and B participants would compete.
Following several rounds of elimination, the standout fighters earned their ticket to join Group A. They would then confront the group's brightest talents.
By the fourth day, the tournament had whittled down to the elite eight out of the initial 32 contenders.
The fifth and final day featured the eagerly anticipated semifinals and the ultimate showdown.

However, the opportunities for advancement from Groups C and B were limited. It was determined by the number of participants in Group A.
In essence, the combined total of contestants from Groups B and C, alongside those from Group A, had to be 32.
If Group A had more than 20 participants, Groups B and C would have fewer than ten advancement slots.
Thus, they had to battle through a pool of 1000 contestald to secure one of the final ten slots. It was an arduous climb.
After all, every participant in the tournament had achieved divinity and no weaklings among them.
Many martial artists were hailed as geniuses in their home turfs. Yet, upon reaching the Sacred Wrym Summit, such acclaim often fell short.
It was akin to the experience of high-achieving students in their school. They were admired and stood out as top performers.
However, once they entered the prestigious university, they quickly realized they were just one among many.
The truth was plain to see among a cohort of exceptional students drawn from far and wide.
This reality check was harsh, yet it fueled their determination to improve themselves.
Meanwhile, Dustin and his group had already secured their seats early in the audience section at Sacred Wrym Summit.
As participants, they could enter the viewing area in advance with their number tags to rest. Otherwise, they'd be stuck standing once the rest of the audience arrived.
With such a huge turnout, it felt like the entire world had converged on the summit. Hence, Sacred Wrym Summit disciples and government personnel were dispatched to keep things under control.
After all, such grand spectacles were a rare occurrence.
"This Combat Tournament is truly a gathering of talents, with remarkable individuals from every corner," Miles remarked.
He looked around and said excitedly, "Take a look over there. Those are the disciples from the Harmony Sect, all pretty as flowers and tough as nails.
"And those bald monks over there? They're from the Aureate Monastery and proficient in the 72 Zen techniques.
They can take on a hundred opponents single-handedly without breaking a sweat! "See those people on your left! They're all disciples of the Esoteric Sword Sect. Despite their flaws, their cultivation is incredibly powerful. And rumor has it, they're experts in the legendary Sword Mastery technique!" Miles pointed as he shared his insights about the various sects. He seemed especially excited about the Esoteric Sword Sect, as if he had uncovered a hidden gem.
Dustin and the others couldn't help but take notice.
Three figures, two men and a woman, stood out from the Esoteric Sword Sect. They were dressed in black robes that hid everything but their eyes.
"Miles, their faces are covered. How do you know they're from the Esoteric Sword Sect?" Ruby asked curiously.
"It's because their faces were covered, and they seem mysterious," Miles replied.
"Huh? That's your reasoning?" She narrowed her eyes, feeling a bit puzzled. She found his explanation somewhat odd, almost unbelievable.
"Heh... | was just messing with you." He laughed.

He shook his head and continued Even though | haven't seen the Esoteric Sword Sect disciples I know their swords Bear a distinct magnolia emblem. And that emblem is the signature of the Esoteric Sword " f Sect.” "A magnolia emblem?" Ruby narrowed her eyes and looked closer.
She finally saw the hilts of the three swords carried by the masked om individuals bore engraving of white magnolias. Above each magnolia, a sword hung inverted, giving it an odd appearance. "Ah, it's true! But how do you know all this?" she asked.
Crystal interjected abruptly, "The Sword Union's library contains comprehensive information on swords from around the globe.
"Among them is the Esoteric Sword Sect, a subject of significant interest. If you're unaware, it's because you often waste your time instead of studying." "Crystal, I've just joined the sect not long ago. Why are you being so strict?" Ruby pouted, feeling a bit aggrieved.
Crystal lectured firmly, "As Sword Union disciples, we face an annual assessment. Fail, andyou're out It's like rowing against the current. You either push forward or get left behind.

mediocrity." "Okay, okay, | got it. After the tournament, I'll buckle down and not slack off!" Ruby vowed.
"That's what | want to hear." Crystal nodded, ending the conversation there. Her words weren't just for Ruby's benefit but also a reminder to herself.
Crystal knew she had to push herself even harder in a world teeming with geniuses and countless individuals more talented and diligent than her.
Otherwise, she'd be left far behind by those top geniuses.

Chapter 2172
"Speaking of which, those disciples from the Esoteric Sword Sect are really worth paying attention to," Miles mused.
He rubbed his chin and looked at the three figures in black robes. "Their sword mastery technique is both mysterious and powerful.
"Beheading enemies from miles away is child's play for them. And challenging opponents above their level? That's just routine.
"If only | could learn their technique, | reckon | could make a nfor myself in the martial world." Crystal chimed in, "The sword mastery technique is their best-kept secret. It was never shared outside their sect.
Our elder once tried to exchange it with three of our top secrets, but they refused." She sighed and shook her head.
The Sword Union was unwaveringly dedicated to anything sword-related.
Whether it was renowned blades, ancient sword manuals, intricate techniques, or swordsmanship principles, they would spare no expense in obtaining them.
"I happen to know a thing or two about sword mastery techniques," Dustin suddenly interjected.
"Huh?" Miles blinked in surprise, his face showing disbelief. "Dustin, are you serious? You're skilled in sword mastery techniques?" "I'm not skilled, just familiar with the basics." Dustin smiled faintly.
Growing up surrounded by the vast collection of ancient books in West Lucozia Castle's library, he had developed a deep love for reading.
With an uncanny ability to remember every word he read, each page becimprinted in his mind.
Follow on SunniWorlds.Blogspot.Com
His childhood dedication to swordplay further fueled his passion for knowledge, leading him to delve into the depths of swordsmanship.
Therefore, it was only natural that he had acquired sunderstanding of sword mastery techniques along the way.
"Sword mastery technique is a legendary secret skill. Even having a basic understanding is impressive!" Miles exclaimed.
He added, "I had no idea you were so well-versed. If you have the time, could you share sof your insights with us? We'd greatly appreciate it." "Yeah, that'd be amazing! We'd reward you generously if you could pass on sof those secrets to the Sword Union," Ruby chimed in eagerly.
It was a golden opportunity for recognition. They were certain that mastering those sword techniques would bring significant rewards upon their return.
Dustin smiled warmly. "No need for rewards. If you're interested, I'll share what | know." He sipped his drink before continuing, "Actually, there's more than one approach to mastering sword techniques.
But it all begins with something called sword nurturing." "Sword nurturing? What do you mean?" Ruby asked, looking confused.
Miles and Crystal exchanged equally puzzled looks.
On the contrary, Dalen appeared lost in thought as he unfolded his fan.
Dustin explained, "Sword nurturing is about cultivating your sword core.
"Before it's fully forged, you must feed your essence to it daily and keep refining it. This will purify the impurities in the sword core and nurture its spirit.
"It's a long and arduous process, no shortcuts. It requires relentless effort and gradual accumulation.
"Normally, it takes at least ten years of diligent work to cultivate the sword core into a spirit sword capable of flying.
"During these ten years, there's no room for slacking, laziness, or mistakes. Otherwise, all previous efforts will be in vain! "Only with their own spirit sword can the wielder truly embark on learning sword mastery technique.
"In other words, ten years of hard work is just the foundation for learning the technique. There's still a lot more to learn." After his explanation, Dustin casually took another sip of his drink.
"Huh? Ten years just for the foundation? That sounds incredibly tough." Ruby sighed, feeling daunted.
With that, any interest she had in the subject disappeared.
The thought of forging sword cores every day for ten years was too daunting. She believed most martial artists would feel the same.
"This technique might be impressive, but it's impossible to learn without natural talent and perseverance." Dustin shrugged.
He had once found the sword mastery technique fascinating and had even given them a shot for a while. But life got in the way, and he never quite mastered them.
While he could use his cultivation and skills to achieve similar effects in combat, it didn't qualify as mastering the technique. It lacked the flexibility and power of true sword mastery.
"Ah, forget it. I'm not cut out for this. I'll just stick to being lazy." Ruby stretched out her arms in resignation.
Miles lamented, "No wonder sword mastery elites are like rare gems in the martial world. Turns out the learning curve is sky-high. At our age, starting from scratch is just not feasible." He shook his head in defeat.
It was like the saying—a moment of glory onstage required ten years of dedication behind the scenes.
Follow on SunniWorlds.Blogspot.Com
While the sword mastery technique seemed impressive, the reality was that it was incredibly challenging to learn. One wrong move could have rendered years of hard work futile.
"What a pity." Crystal sighed.
She had been eager to get stronger, especially when she first heard about the sword mastery technique. But now, faced with its daunting difficulty, she felt disappointed.
Even those with exceptional talent needed at least a decade of relentless practice. With so much trequired, she realized she could easily master the Sword Union's techniques instead of reaching for something so distant.
"Well, | do remember sbasics about sword mastery technique. If you're interested, I'll write them down tonight after we return to the tavern," Dustin offered.
"I'm not interested. You should ask them." Ruby grabbed a lollipop and half-lounged on the chair with her headphones on.
"I appreciate your kindness, but I'm not cut out for this." Miles politely declined with an awkward smile.
He knew his limitations, and learning the sword mastery technique was simply out of the question. He couldn't see the point of owing Dustin a favor for something he couldn't even attempt.
"Don't look at me. I'm not into swords. What use would | have for it?" Dalen shrugged.
"I don't need it either, but the Sword Union could make good use of it. If you're open to trading, | can help make it happen." Crystal nodded slightly.
"No trades needed for now. We'll discuss it later if it comes up." Dustin chuckled.
Sword mastery technique could be a friendly gift, but he wasn't interested in trading it for petty gains.
Besides, he didn't lack anything at the moment.

Chapter 2173
As Dustin and the others chatted, a commotion suddenly erupted nearby.
The bustling crowd swiftly scattered. They immediately cleared a wide path as if something dreadful was approaching.
Then, a stunningly beautiful woman, accompanied by several mysterious figures in white robes, entered the tournament arena.
Her white hair and eyes gave her an otherworldly appearance, and her demeanor exuded a chilling authority.
Within a 30-foot radius, no one dared to approach her willingly. Their faces betrayed a mix of reverence and fear, as if they were avoiding a venomous serpent.
Yet, when Dustin saw the white-haired woman, he couldn't help but pause momentarily. He was surprised as he hadn't expected to encounter a familiar face.
"Hmm, that's strange. That woman looks pretty, but why's everyone acting so scared around her?" Ruby scratched her head in confusion.
"Yes, she's beautiful. But take a closer look at the emblem on her clothes. She's from the Mystic Arts Order," Dalen pointed out.
"What? The Mystic Arts Order?" Ruby's eyes widened as she instinctively took a step back. Though she hadn't crossed paths with them, she had heard the rumors.
As one of the three major sects, their stance differed entirely from the Sword Union and the Celestial Alliance.
Many regarded them as a cult.

After all, the Mystic Arts Order practiced techniques that involved constant association with poisonous creatures.
Their disciples were also known for their ambiguous conduct. They had a reputation for flouting the rules of the martial world. A spat with them could mean disaster for a whole family.
With rumors swirling, just hearing "Mystic Arts Order" was enough to make people keep their distance. Over time, they beca nthat struck fear into even the bravest souls.
"Who would've thought the Combat Tournament would attract Mystic Arts Order disciples, too? Now, the pressure's on." Miles scratched his chin, deep in thought.
Aside from the big names on the Legendary List, many top contenders were vying for rankings in the tournament.
The pressure was already high with the Celestial Alliance in the tournament. And now, with the Mystic Arts Order participating, it beceven tougher for Sword Union disciples like Miles to stand out.
"Miles, you've got it wrong. That woman isn't just any disciple of the Mystic Arts Order," Dalen said with a smirk.
"Wait, do you know her?" Miles was surprised.
"If I'm not mistaken, she's Abigail, the Grand Sorceress of the Mystic Arts Order. Ranked second on the Legendary List," Dalen revealed.
"What? The Grand Sorceress of the Mystic Arts Order? Ranked second on the Legendary List?" Miles' eyes widened in disbelief.
Crystal and Ruby shared his astonishment.
They never would've guessed that Abigail, who seemed so gentle and unassuming, held such a prestigious position.
The authority that cwith being the Grand Sorceress and ranking second on the Legendary List was enough to command respect and awe from everyone.
"Ah, so that's Abigail. She looks even better than the rumors." Ruby's surprise quickly turned into admiration.
Ruby had only two female idols on the Legendary List—Abigail and Scarlet, the Goddess of War from Dragonmarsh. So, it was no surprise that seeing one of them in person left her beyond excited.
She might have approached Abigail for a chat if they were in a less crowded place.
But amidst the crowd's watchful eyes and as a disciple of the Sword Union, Ruby knew striking up a casual conversation wasn't an option.
It would raise unnecessary suspicions and potentially cause trouble for both parties.
"Whoa, | didn't expect the Grand Sorceress of the Mystic Arts Order to be so young. Thought she'd be older," Miles blurted out excitedly.
For him, catching even a glimpse of the second-ranked legend on the Legendary List was already a great honor.
"Wait... she seems to be heading our way," Crystal observed. Her gaze sharpened as she quickly noticed something off.
Abigail, who had been strolling alone, suddenly spotted something intriguing. A mischievous smirk played on her lips as she abruptly changed course.
She marched purposefully toward them with a hint of excitement in her stride.
"Hmm, she really is coming over. What does she want with us?" Ruby glanced around but didn't spot anyone else nearby.

Abigail was definitely making a beeline for them.
"Maybe she's into my charm?" Miles ran a hand through his hair, adjusting his clothes with a hopeful expression.
"Con, Miles, let's be real. If anyone's catching her eye, it's Dalen, not you," Ruby countered, bringing down his excitement a notch.
She couldn't deny Miles had scharm, but compared to Dalen, he didn't stand a chance.
"Everyone, be careful! People from the Mystic Arts Order are not to be trifled with!" Crystal frowned slightly and instinctively gripped her sword's hilt.
Abigail was the Grand Sorceress of the Mystic Arts Order. She ranked second on the Legendary List and carried immense weight with her reputation.
That added pressure on Crystal, making her extra cautious in her actions.
Amid everyone's astonishment, confusion, and curiosity, Abigail dashed forward. Her face lit up with excitement and surprise, and she flung herself into Dustin's embrace.
"Sir, we meet again!" Abigail's sweet smile melted her icy exterior, replacing it with warmth and liveliness. But this unexpected display left everyone gaping in disbelief.
"Huh?" Miles stood frozen with a bewildered smile.
Ruby blinked and rubbed her eyes in disbelief.
Crystal, caught off guard, froze with her sword halfway drawn.
Even Dalen, usually so perceptive, looked astonished.
None of them had expected Abigail, the Grand Sorceress of the Mystic Arts Order, to throw herself affectionately into Dustin's arms with such carefree abandon.
Questions raced through Dalen's mind as he pondered about Dustin's identity and how he could be so familiar with Abigail.

Chapter 2174
"Wait... am | seeing things? The Grand Sorceress of the Mystic Arts Order is actually in another man's arms?" "They say she's ruthless, cold-blooded, but she doesn't seem quite like the rumors." "Who is that guy? How could he make the Grand Sorceress of the Mystic Arts Order fall for him? Is he sbig shot?" The sudden turn of events sparked whispers and finger-pointing among the onlookers.
They never expected the notorious Grand Sorceress of the Mystic Arts Order to have such an innocent and adorable side. At that moment, she looked just like any ordinary woman.
If it weren't for the several guardians of the Mystic Arts Order standing behind Abigail, they would have doubted her identity.
"Hmm?" Abigail's behavior startled Dustin just as much as it did the rest of the crowd. After all, he had completely changed his appearance with his disguise, looking nothing like his usual self.

He couldn't help but wonder how Abigail had managed to recognize him at a glance.
"Sir, what's wrong? You don't look too thrilled to see me." Abigail tilted her head and smiled.
"Erm... no. I'm just surprised." Dustin's hand instinctively reached for his face. He wanted to ensure his face- changing art remained intact, but his confusion grew deeper.
"No need to touch your face. | don't even need eyes to know it's you. Your smell gives you away," she said, pointing to her nose.
She continued, "Your scent is strong. | could sniff you out from miles away. Pretty impressive, right?" He smiled and praised, "Yes, it's impressive. You're even better than a dog." "Are you complimentingor mocking me?" Abigail rolled her eyes.
"I'm just joking." Dustin laughed. "So, are you here for the Combat Tournament too?" "The tournament hosted by Sacred Wrym Summit is a big deal. So, of course, we're here to support and scout new talent," she said honestly.
"It's indeed a great opportunity with many skilled participants gathered here." He nodded in agreement.
"And what about you, sir? You're not just here for the fame, right?" she teased with a grin.
Dustin admitted openly, "I'm here to enjoy myself but also to take care of sbusiness for a friend." "Got it, lips sealed!" Abigail winked playfully.
Her astuteness made her realize that his presence at Sacred Wrym Summit had deeper motives than mere interest in the tournament. After all, he wouldn't have used face-changing art.

"Are these your friends?" she asked, looking at Dalen and the others.
"Yes, | met them at the Sacred Wrym Summit. Letintroduce them to you." Dustin extended his hand and introduced, "This is Dalen Shade, the heir apparent of Shadow Citadel.
He's knowledgeable in both arts and sciences and very friendly." "Hello, Mr. Shade," Abigail greeted with a smile.
"Dustin, you flatter me. I'm just an ordinary man who can't reach the highest halls of sophistication." Dalen returned the gesture with a nod, though he was a bit surprised.
He hadn't mentioned he was the successor of Shadow Citadel, yet Dustin had seen right through him.
Dustin continued his introductions, "These three are elite disciples of the Sword Union, gifted with exceptional talent and extraordinary skills.
"Crystal Wesley, Miles Young, and Ruby Wesley."

"Your reputation precedes you, Grand Sorceress. Meeting you today confirms it." Crystal nodded respectfully, her demeanor composed and full of respect.
"You're too kind, Ms. Wesley," Abigail replied with a gentle nod.
"Uh... Greetings, Grand Sorceress," Miles stammered, visibly nervous as he hastily nodded.
"You're friends with Mr. Dustin, so you're my friend too. No need to be so formal." Abigail's warm smile was devoid of any trace of arrogance.
"I'm Ruby Wesley, pleased to meet you!" Ruby exclaimed eagerly and extended her hand.

Abigail wasn't just the Grand Sorceress of the Mystic Arts Order but also ranked second on the Legendary List.
Hence, Ruby felt honored to be acquainted with someone of her caliber.
"Pleasure's mine." Abigail smiled as she shook Ruby's hand.
However, this simple act caused Crystal and Miles's expressions to change.
After all, rumors circulated that Abigail was filled with parasitic poison. Any physical contact with her was perceived as potentially life-threatening.
"Don't worry. Mystic Arts Order disciples aren't savage beasts. We don't harm without reason," Abigail reassured them with a knowing smile as if she had sensed their concerns.
Crystal and Miles exchanged a sheepish glance. They realized their inner concerns hadn't gone unnoticed by Abigail.
Once introductions were exchanged, they all settled into their seats.
Yet, with Abigail among them, Dustin and his companions inevitably becthe focal point of attention.
Whispers and speculations rippled through the crowd of martial artists as fingers subtly pointed their way.
Mystic Arts Order disciples typically kept to themselves, seldom mingling with others. So, seeing someone like Dustin engaged in lively conversation with the Grand Sorceress was a rare sight.
Abigail suddenly suggested, "Sir, I've heard many formidable contestants this time, including sremarkable individuals. While you're strong, it might be tough to excel through all the challenges.

"But fear not, for | have a solution that could easily ensure your victory and secure favorable rankings for your friends." Dalen and the others instantly perked up at her words.
They had journeyed to Sacred Wrym Summit with aspirations to carve out a nfor themselves. The prospect of Abigail offering a means to secure a favorable ranking was immensely appealing to them.
"Oh? What's your plan then? I'm all ears." Dustin chuckled. He was all in if it meant conserving his energy to pass the challenges.
"It's simple," Abigail replied, her grin widening with confidence. "Identify those who pose a threat to us, then secretly poison them to destroy their cultivation. That way, we'll have nothing to worry about!" "Huh? Poison them?" Dalen and the others exchanged dumbfounded glances, unsure how to react to the suggestion. They couldn't find the words to respond.
Was this supposed to be a joke? The plan seemed like a surefire disaster waiting to happen.
With the Combat Tournament attracting elite martial artists from diverse sects, poisoning them would undoubtedly provoke the ire of every faction.
If their plot were to be uncovered, their survival, let alone their participation in the tournament, would be uncertain.
They concluded that only a madman would entertain such a suicidal scheme.

Chapter 2176
"Abigail? Are you for real?" Dustin raised his eyebrows in disbelief.
Since discovering her hidden abilities, she had becbolder than usual. He thought he was ready for anything, but her boldness surprised him.
On the day of the Combat Tournament, she suggested poisoning all the skilled disciples from different sects.
Dustin felt uneasy about taking such a risky step. He cto understand that Abigail's way of thinking was beyond conventional norms.
She exclaimed proudly, "Of course, I'm serious! With us poisoning those formidable opponents, winning the championship will be a breeze, don't you think? I feel like a genius for coming up with this brilliant plan!" Dustin fell silent while Dalen and the others tensed up. They felt like they were treading on thin ice.
Abigail was loud and caught all the nearby martial artists' attention.
Everyone cast wary glances in their direction, and seven started to reach for their weapons.
If Abigail continued to speak boldly, Dustin and the others would soon be considered enemies in the martial world.
It becevident why disciples of the Mystic Arts Order were so despised. Their frequent tactic of using poison made it difficult for them to be accepted.

"Abigail, abandon this idea. The tournament should be about fairness and skill, not underhanded tactics," Dustin stated earnestly.
He intentionally raised his voice to help ease the tension among the martial artists nearby.
"Sir, are you doubting my plan?" She tilted her head to look at him.
"I'm not, but I'm concerned about the risks involved," Dustin replied.
He discreetly glanced around and whispered, "Everyone heard you. If things go wrong, we'll all be in hot water.
Let's stick to fair play and rely on our abilities." "What's there to be afraid of? If anyone challenges us, we'll poison them!" Abigail declared confidently. She glanced at the martial artists nearby.
However, those who looked back at her seemed shaken, as if they had encountered a strong opponent.
"Alright, young lady. Tone down on the violence. A gentler approach might be better for you, especially if you're thinking about settling down." Dustin redirected the conversation.
She retorted, "Settle down? No way! Men are the worst! She quickly changed the topic and smiled. "Except for you, that is. You're the exception, the cream of the crop!" "You little rascal!" Dustin shook his head and smiled helplessly.
Dalen and Miles exchanged looks and grinned wryly. After all, Abigail's comment about men had quite an impact on them.
"Ms. Abigail, I've heard your Mystic Arts Order's venomous curses are legendary. Can you show it to me?" Ruby's curiosity bubbled up unexpectedly.
"We've got quite the collection of venomous curses. Which one are you interested in?" Abigail smiled.
Most people would avoid her once they realized who she was, but Ruby appeared unaffected.
"Anything's fine, but | want something unique," Ruby replied enthusiastically.
"Unique, huh?" Abigail raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Alright, I'll show it to you. But | need a pair of male and female volunteers." "I'm in! And as for the other volunteers..." Ruby glanced at Miles. "Miles, let's help Ms. Abigail." "Huh? Me?" He froze. He was caught off guard and wondered how he had been roped into this.
"It's a chance to try something new. Help satisfy my curiosity," Ruby said eagerly.
"Is it... safe?" His eyes darted around nervously.
Everyone knew how dangerous the Mystic Arts Order's curses could be. What if he ended up being the test subject? Miles naturally wasn't willing to gamble with his life.
"Don't worry, you won't die," Abigail reassured, though her tone lacked conviction.
"Miles, you're usually the picture of bravery and wisdom. You're not about to chicken out now, are you?" Ruby quickly resorted to psychological coercion when she noticed his lingering hesitation.

"Who said anything about chickening out? It's just helping out, right? Let's do this. Let's go. If | waver, then I'm no longer Miles Young!" Miles puffed his chest to display his bravery. As a man, he couldn't afford to back down in situations like this.
Abigail said, "Okay, let's proceed." She smirked and reached for her waistband. From there, she pulled out two pills, one black and one white. They looked ordinary, about the size of a pea.
"Here, one for each of you," she said. Then, she handed Miles the black pill and Ruby the white one.
"What is it?" Ruby asked curiously.
"Swallow it, and I'll tell you," Abigail said with a mischievous grin.
"Okay." Ruby nodded and downed the white pill without a second thought.
In contrast, Miles hesitated as he eyed the black pill warily.
"What are you waiting for, Miles? Gulp it down!" Ruby urged.
After a deep breath, he gritted his teeth and reluctantly swallowed the black pill.
Ms. Abigail, can you tell us now?" Ruby asked eagerly.
Abigail replied, "This is the Echoed Curse, also known as the Affliction Curse. Once you ingest it, your lives will be bound together." She smiled and explained, "From here on out, you two are bound together, for better or worse." "Bound together? What does it mean?" Miles looked perplexed.
"Oh, it's simple," Abigail replied casually. She unwrapped a lollipop and popped it into her mouth. "It means you're now sharing a life. One dies, the other will also die." As they understood what she meant, the mood grew somber.

Chapter 2177
"What?" Miles was shocked. He jumped from his seat, thinking he must have misheard.
He could not believe he was sharing a life with Ruby because of a pill. How ridiculous. Who would ever believe this? The others looked bewildered after hearing Abigail's unexpected revelation.
The Echoed Curse was a powerful and rarely seen spell. It could change destinies and even save lives.
But Abigail had turned it into a joke and bound Miles and Ruby's lives together. This prank had gone too far.
"Ms. Abigail, can we undo this Echoed Curse?" Ruby's voice quivered.
Her initial curiosity now filled her with dread and uncertainty. She disliked the idea of sharing her fate, especially with Miles.

As she pondered, a troubling realization struck her. What if he got into trouble one day? Would she be pulled down with him? "No, the Echoed Curses are for one-tuse only. Once taken, their effects can't be undone," Abigail explained.
She smiled faintly and added, "From now on, your destinies are linked, so take care of each other." "What?" Ruby's face tightened, and tears welled up in her eyes. "This... is too sudden, doesn't it?" "What's wrong? Didn't you want something unique?" Abigail asked innocently.
"Unique?" Ruby's eyes narrowed, showing her bitterness.
How could this be unique? She was clearly putting their lives in danger.
"Ruby! You. you're such a fool!" Miles fumed as he smacked his thigh in frustration.
If Ruby hadn't insisted on trying it, would he have risked his life like this? Now, he had to deal with the consequences and couldn't even complain.
Ruby pursed her lips. She admitted her mistake and chose to remain quiet.
Abigail reassured, "Don't worry. The Echoed Curse offers more than just binding your lives," she explained. "You'll gain telepathic skills to improve teamwork.
"Plus, your abilities will grow faster when training together, achieving double progress in half the time. With perseverance and time, your hard work will lead to success." Miles and Ruby felt relieved upon hearing this. They knew they couldn't change the fact that their lives were bound together. But they found solace in the advantages of the Echoed Curse.
"Mr. Harding, they're over there. | could see them, no doubt about it!" Suddenly, a group of burly men dressed in black stormed into the venue with an intimidating air. Their intimidating appearance and long swords hinted at trouble.
Standing at a towering six feet five, the leader looked rough and menacing, like a thug.
Miles sensed trouble and said, "Hey, aren't those guys from Frostzard Manor? Looks like they're heading our way." "Frostzard Manor? Are they strong?" Ruby asked, looking confused.
"They're known as one of the strongest factions in the northwest," he said, scratching his chin. "But there are rumors that their elder passed away recently in strange circumstances.
He continued, "It's surprising to see them here after their mourning period just ended." As Miles spoke, the Frostzard Manor group approached.

"Ah, found you at last, troublemaker!" The leader pointed at Abigail. "You've got snerve showing your face here! With plenty of other options, you chose to walk right into the lion's den. Today, I'll avenge my father's death!" "Huh?" Abigail raised an eyebrow, looking at him like he was crazy. "Who are you? Have we met before?" The leader replied, "I'm Luke Harding from Frostzard Manor!" He added angrily, "Recently, my father, Maurice Harding, died under mysterious circumstances. And it's supposedly because of your Mystic Arts Order! You'll pay for it since you're associated with them!" "Frostzard Manor?" Abigail's expression turned cold. "What does your father's death have to do with me? Take your vengeance elsewhere." Luke retorted, "Hmph! Enough with your excuses! All those Mystic Arts Order disciples are wicked, horrible scoundrels!" He declared angrily, "Today, you've crossed paths with me, and I'll ensure to avenge my father's death. Justice will be served!" "Justice? Ha... How noble." Abigail scoffed. "These supposed righteous groups, how many of them really care about fairness? "They're just hypocrites, pretending to be noble. They talk about doing the right thing while acting horribly—it makessick!" "Stop talking!" Luke glared at her. "You won't change my mind. Surrender or face the consequences!" "If you're not afraid to die, then let's do it. I'll wipe your faction off from the face of the earth," Abigail said flatly.
Unlike her behavior with Dustin, she now showed the authority and toughness of the Grand Sorceress of the Mystic Arts Order.
"You insolent troublemaker! We'll make you pay today! Attack!" Filled with anger, Luke ordered his disciples to attack.
"Attack!" In response, the Frostzard Manor disciples drew their swords.
"Stop!" A loud shout rang out as tensions rose when both groups prepared for a fight.
The powerful voice echoed loudly, making everyone shiver and stop moving.
The Frostzard Manor men, ready to attack just moments ago, froze in place as if struck by lightning.
At that moment, a middle-aged monk arrived. He gracefully descended and landed among the two groups.
Though unassuming in appearance, his strong presence affected everyone around him.
Under this imposing figure, not a soul dared to move.

The arrival of the middle-aged monk instantaneously hushed the entire training ground.
It was only when he gradually tamed his imposing presence that whispers began to ripple through the crowd.
"Who is that? He looks powerful." "Of course he is. He's Oron Foyer, the disciple of the Ancient Sage!" "Ah, that explains it. I've heard he's incredibly strong, nearly on par with Kaden, another disciple of the Ancient Sage. It seems the rumors are true." "Well, with Master Oron here, | doubt anyone will start any fights today." As Oron stood in the center, the crowd started murmuring.

Today was the Combat Tournament held by the Sacred Wrym Summit, so security naturally was the top priority.
If things got out of hand, it wouldn't just be a feud between sects—it could turn into a big fight.
Alliances were frequent in the martial world, and a skirmish between a few could drag others in. If that happened, matters would quickly spiral out of control.
So, when the Frostzard Manor was about to throw the first punch, Oron stepped in promptly to avert a riot.
"Today is the day of the Combat Tournament at Sacred Wrym Summit. If you're eager for a fight, let's settle it in the battle ring. Remember to follow the rules and keep things civil." Oron bowed respectfully to the Frostzard Manor group. Then, he turned to Abigail and her friends and bowed again. Though polite, his tone was firm.
"Who is this blasted monk blocking our path? Do you have a death wish or something?" Luke glared fiercely at Oron and ignored his words.
His bold attitude made his disciples uneasy. Despite Frostzard Manor's power, they knew they weren't ready to challenge Sacred Wrym Summit.
Lambert Ramsfeld, an elderly man with a distinguished goatee, stood behind Luke. He whispered, "Mr. Harding, this man is Oron Foyer. He's from Sacred Wrym Summit, a disciple of the Ancient Sage. We shouldn't mess with him." Lambert was ready to face the Mystic Arts Order for Maurice's sake, but he wouldn't risk angering Sacred Wrym Summit. After all, no one in the martial world dared to mess with the Sacred Wrym Summit.

"Oron? Who cares? | don't care who he is. Anyone who tries to stopfrom getting revenge will regret it!" Luke shouted angrily.
"What an idiot," Abigail muttered as she ignored Luke. She sat down and watched the situation unfold like it was entertainment.
With Oron from Sacred Wrym Summit present, she knew she didn't have to do anything.
"Mr. Harding, we're in Sacred Wrym Summit's territory. It's not smart to stir up trouble with so many powerful sects around," Lambert warned.
Despite Frostzard Manor's influence in the northwest, they couldn't risk angering other major sects at Sacred Wrym Summit.
"I have to avenge my father, don't I? What does being wise have to do with it? Should I just sit back while the killer gets away?" Luke yelled angrily.
"Well..." Lambert hesitated.
He didn't pay much attention to Luke when Maurice was alive. He just thought Luke was a bit impulsive.

But now Lambert realized Luke wasn't just impulsive, but foolish. He thought that Luke just couldn't see the bigger picture.
"Sir, any personal issues between you two can be resolved in the battle ring or discussed privately later. But causing trouble here isn't acceptable," Oron said calmly.
Luke glared at him and yelled, "You, meddling monk! My affairs are none of your concern. If you know what's good for you, stay out of it, or things might turn ugly!" Lambert was left speechless and astonished upon hearing that.
The Frostzard Manor disciples wiped their brows nervously. They weren't sure whether to praise Luke for his bravery or criticize him for recklessly challenging Sacred Wrym Summit.
They knew their sect wouldn't survive much longer at this rate.

"Sir, if you don't comply, I'll have to ask you to leave Sacred Wrym Summit," Oron said sternly.
"You think I'll just leave because you say so? I'm staying here. | doubt you'll do anything about it!" Luke said defiantly and glared at Oron as if he were invincible.
Oron frowned at Luke's rudeness. Although he usually kept his temper in check, Luke's arrogance irritated him.
"Fine! You wantto leave? Showwhat you can do! Let's see if you can walk the talk!" Luke challenged arrogantly and waved his sword.
The Frostzard Manor disciples exchanged uneasy glances. They were visibly distressed by the situation.
The martial artists around them smirked mockingly and were excited to see what would happen next.
After all, it had been a while since they had seen a maniac daring enough to challenge the Sacred Wyrm Summit.
Naturally, they were eager to watch the spectacle.
"This is your final warning to leave Sacred Wrym Summit," Oron said sternly. An invisible force seemed to emanate from him.
Suddenly, a strong wind whipped around them, kicking up dust and debris.
"You wantto leave? Fine! But you'll have to fightfirst!" Luke snarled.
Upon hearing that, Oron lost his temper. Anger flashed in his eyes, accompanied by a power capable of causing destruction.

"Master Oron, you don't have to deal with this riffraff. Lethandle it." Suddenly, a casual voice cfrom the crowd.
Then, a young monk wearing a worn-out outfit and flip-flops stepped forward. It was Caleb.
He casually approached Oron as he picked his nose. Caleb's eyes were half-closed as if he had just woken up.
"Master Oron, why don't you take a break? I've dealt with these types before," Caleb said lazily.
"Then, I'll leave it to you." Oron nodded and calmed down. He knew confronting someone younger wouldn't be appropriate for someone of his status.
But Caleb was different, being ten years younger than Luke. So, it wouldn't be considered bullying.
"Hey, Big Guy, I'll give you two options," Caleb said, holding up two fingers. "Either you leave on your own, or I'll kick you out!"

Chapter 2180
Caleb held up two fingers and said casually, "I'll give you two options. Either you leave on your own, or I'll kick you out!" "Hmph! Who do you think you are to orderaround? Do you have a death wish?" Luke's eyes narrowed with disdain.
"If you don't leave, I'll have to take action. You might end up with broken bones and bedridden for a while,” Caleb said as he continued to pick his nose.
"Are you threatening me? Do you think I'm scared? If you're brave, go ahead and try it! I'd like to see what you can do!" Luke said arrogantly and waved his sword.
Caleb continued, "The old man used to say, ‘Be polite before using force.’ Well, I've tried being nice, but if you keep being like this. So, don't blme for getting rough.” He raised his hand and pointed at Luke from a distance. "Stormcraft." Then, a bolt of blue lightning shot forth from his fingertips and hit the furious Luke.
The lightning bolt was incredibly fast, striking Luke in the chest before he could react.
There was a loud explosion, and Luke's shirt ripped apart. The force sent him flying and crashing heavily to the ground 30 feet away.
"Mr. Harding!" The disciples of Frostzard Manor gasped and paled as they ran toward him.
The other martial artists exchanged uneasy looks but were amazed by what had just happened.
Nobody expected the monk from Sacred Wrym Summit to be so skilled. With just one use of Stormcraft, they witnessed Caleb easily defeat Luke.
Even though Luke was arrogant and halfway to becoming a grandmaster elite, it was surprising to see him defeated so effortlessly.
Electric sparks crackled in the air as Luke lay unconscious on the ground. His clothes were ripped, his chest burnt, and his limbs frozen, leaving him unable to move.

As he lay there, sparks flickered over his body, causing several Frostzard Manor disciples to recoil in shock when they tried to touch him.
"Mr. Harding? Mr. Harding?" The disciples gathered around Luke and shouted continuously but hesitated to get too close.
As the shock wore off, Luke started to stir from his paralyzed state.
"What happened?" He shook his head in confusion.
Everything had happened quickly, leaving him no tto react before Caleb's Stormcraft hit him. Then, he blacked out and couldn't remember what happened.
Lambert pointed at Luke's chest and said, "You got hit by Stormcraft.” Looking down, Luke saw his chest covered in blood and burned flesh with a charred smell. Instantly, he was furious.
"What the hell!" He slammed the ground hard and pushed himself up. As he stood, he pointed his sword at Caleb.
"You rotten monk! | didn't expect you to stoop so low and do a sneak attack! Is this the style of your Sacred Wrym Summit?" "A sneak attack?" Caleb smirked. "I'm attacking you directly, so where's the sneakiness? But you're tough, so I'll give you that.
You took a hit from Stormcraft and are still standing." "What the hell is this Stormcraft? It couldn't even hurt me! Your Sacred Wrym Summit's skills aren't that impressive!" Luke retorted.
"Not impressive?" Caleb flicked the booger he had picked onto the ground, immediately creating a hole.
He said lightly, "I only used ten percent of my strength to teach you a lesson. Keep up this act and don't be surprised if | get tougher." "Hmph! Quit your damn yapping! Today, I'm going to take you on!" Luke replied boldly. He brandished his sword and rushed toward Caleb.
"Mr. Harding! No!" Everyone from Frostzard Manor was terrified. Their faces turned pale as they shouted to stop Luke, but it was too late.
Luke was already blinded by anger and couldn't stop himself.
"Go to hell!" he roared. He gripped the sword hilt tightly and swung it at Caleb's head.
"Still as stubborn as ever." Caleb shook his head and pointed at Luke's sword from afar.
Suddenly, a bolt of blue lightning shot out and struck the sword.
With a loud crack, Luke's sword snapped in half. The force caused him to tremble and freeze in place.
Before he could do anything, Caleb's finger emitted another burst of blue light.
The light formed into a ball as it gradually grew to the size of a basketball. It crackled with lightning and brimming with energy.
"Ah?" Luke's expression darkened.
He felt the weight of the pressure bearing down on him. Shivers ran down his spine, and goosebumps covered his body.
He had a gut feeling that taking a hit would cause serious injuries.

"Stormcraft." Caleb acted quickly and lightly tapped the blue lightning ball with his finger.
The ball shot toward Luke with incredible speed.
Sensing imminent danger, Luke instinctively raised his broken sword to block.
Aloud explosion filled the air as the lightning ball shattered the sword. The intense energy erupted suddenly.
Luke was thrown backward like a cannonball, flying over 30 yards before crashing into a boulder.
The impact split the rock into fragments with another loud blast.
Luke lay on the ground, coughing up blood. He was barely conscious . His body felt limp, as if he was barely holding onto life, with multiple broken bones.
"Damn... Damn it!" He spat blood and cursed before his head dropped to the side, and he passed out.
"Mr. Harding!" The Frostzard Manor disciples rushed forward. They quickly gave him tablets and channeled true energy to revive him.
Caleb said calmly, "He'll be fine, but he'll need to stay in bed for at least six months."
"Why you—" Lambert clenched his teeth in anger but held back from attacking. He ordered Luke to be taken away before leaving with a displeased expression.
This encounter made all factions present realize the power of Sacred Wrym Summit Seeing the strength of techniques like Stormcraft filled them with awe and caution. It was clear that only a fool would provoke the Sacred Wrym Summit.
